Dr. Peter C. Knudson

Dr. Peter C. Knudson is a native of Brigham City, Utah. He graduated from Weber State College with an Associate of Science degree. He also graduated from Utah State University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. Prior to completing his pre-dental studies, Dr. Knudson served his church for 30 months as a missionary in Denmark.

In 1966 Dr. Knudson received his DDS degree from the University of Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. Upon completion of dental school, he entered the United States Public Health Service and served a years internship at the U.S. Public Health Service hospital on Staten Island, New York. Following his internship Dr. Knudson began his 2-year orthodontic residency program at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois. At the completion of his residency in 1969, he was awarded the Certificate of Orthodontics Specialty and a Master of Science degree.

Since 1969 Dr. Knudson has practiced Orthodontics in Brigham City, Ogden, South Ogden, and Salt Lake City, Utah. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists, and is past president of the Utah Association of Orthodontists. He successfully completed the requirements for certification by the American Board of Orthodontics, is a board-certified orthodontist, and is a member of the College of Diplomats. Dr. Knudson is a fellow of the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists.

Public Service has been an important part of Dr. Knudson's life. He served four years as a member of the Brigham City Council and three consecutive terms (12 years) as Mayor of Brigham City. Following his service in local government, Dr. Knudson served two terms (4 years) in the Utah State legislature as a member of the Utah House of Representatives. He is currently serving as a State Senator in the Utah legislature and was appointed vice chair of the Health committee for the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Dr. Knudson and his wife have been married since 1963 and are the proud parents of four children; three daughters and one son. They also have a grandson and a granddaughter who bring much happiness to their lives. For relaxation and recreation, Dr. Knudson enjoys fishing, hunting, boating, and skiing during the winter, as well as travel - any time.

Dr. Darrell G. Smith

Dr. Darrell G. Smith attended Utah State University and Brigham Young University for his under-graduate education. He was then accepted at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry for their dental educational program. Dr. Smith received annual Scholarship Awards for being one of the top three students in his class during his four years of dental school and was nominated into the honorary dental fraternity, OKU.

In 1968 Dr. Smith accepted a two-year dental internship with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Seattle, Washington. He subsequently was accepted in the Graduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Dentistry graduating in 1972 completing two additional years of advanced education at which time he began his orthodontic practice in Roy, Utah.

Dr. Smith is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Weber District Dental Society, of which he is a past president, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists, and is a past president of the Utah Association of Orthodontists. He completed the certification requirements by the American Board of Orthodontics and is a board - certified orthodontist and member of the College of Diplomats.

Dr. Smith and his wife, Carole Dawn, are the parents of eight children, 4 sons and 4 daughters-Jeffrey, Curtis, Michael and Greg Smith; Debra Kohli, Susan Ellis, Christine Korhonen and Cari Burningham. The Smiths have enjoyed living in Laketown for the past 12 years. Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his family swimming, sailing, fishing, boating, hunting, 4-wheeling, skiing, and snowmobiling. He looks forward to getting better acquainted with the wonderful families living in the Rich and Bear Lake Counties.
